Norwescon Panel - Modern Tools 5:00pm - 6:00pm
In an age of increasing programs and resources, panelists discuss the current ones available to us that can be good resources. Conversely, what tools are distractions and how to minimize those. This is not a panel on AI and utilizing AI into one’s toolset.
@ Cascade 11 with panelists: Josh Storey, Sandra Rosner, Richard Flores IV, Cyrus Amelia Fisher
Norwescon Panel: Professional IP Writing vs. Fanfic
Professional IP work both is and is not like getting paid to write fic. What are the differences, and how does experience in one area translate to the other?
@ Cascade 11 with panelists: Margaret Owen (M), Sandra Rosner, Amanda Cherry, Atlin Merrick, Janna Silverstein
Norwescon Panel - Imposter Syndrome and Progress
Explore the nature of imposter syndrome as a necessary part of progress. Our panelists provide perspectives on how to utilize this emotion as a strength instead of an anchor that holds you back.
@Cascade 9 or Twitch with panelists: Amy Sundberg (M), Alex Crawley, Sandra Rosner, Randy Henderson, J.P. Barnett
Norwescon Panel - From Campaigns to Contracts
You've waged your campaign and written your story—but how do you break into the business of RPG fiction publishing? This panel brings together professional authors who’ve made the leap from the gaming table to the bookshelf as well as the editors who acquire their work. Panelists will share insights on pitching, contracts, and the realities of working in licensed universes.
@Evergreen 1 & 2 with panelists: Amanda Cherry (M), Rosemary Jones, James L. Sutter, Monte Lin, Sandra Rosner
Norwescon Panel - Who Would Win?

Norwescon Panel - From Page to Podcast
Writing for audio is its own art form—intimate, immersive, and driven by the power of voice. Come and listen to how these podcast writers, hosts, and creators craft compelling narratives designed to be heard. Learn how to structure an episode, build tension, and shape character arcs, how to ask questions that spark genuine dialogue, or structure interviews so that they flow smoothly but are still engaging. Whether you’re developing a fiction series, a documentary or interview-style show, or anything in between, you’ll leave with practical insights to elevate your audio storytelling.
@Cascade 11 with panelists: Luke Elliott (M), Steven Barnes, Ron Leota, Clay Vermulm, Sandra Rosner

Fall Convention Hiatus
Fantasy/Sci-fi/Gaming conventions tend to hibernate during these months in order to gather strength for the coming year. If you run a local event or convention during this time or into 2026 and would like to invite me as a guest, please reach out.
Autographs
Limited number of books will be available for purchase. Stop by for free TTRPG themed stickers courtesy of the 3RPG Podcast.
Panel: Licenced TTRPGs as Fanfic
TTRPGs have a long history of media-licensed game systems: Call of Cthulhu, Marvel Universe, Middle Earth Role-Playing, and dozens of less-known games for tv shows or movies. Panelists will explore the connections and differences between "let's play a game in this setting" and "I want to write a story in this setting."
Panel: Isms and Phobias in Gaming
Gamer communities - both video games and ttrpgs, both players and publishers - have rampant problems with exclusionary practices and often active harassment against marginalized people. How can we build a more diverse, more welcoming gaming community?
Panel: Narrative TTRPG Play Session and Discussion
Many recent novels and series have evolved out of Tabletop Role-Playing Games, such as The Expanse. This workshop-style gathering will use narrative TTRPGs to explore the idea of game sessions as inspiration for story, world building and more. Fun for professionals and hobbyists alike.
Panel: The Panalysts
The Panalysts are here to solve the very real and not at all inconsequential problems of the world... by arguing about them on a British-style panel show. Two teams of three contestants solve some problems the host has come up with. All scoring is at the hosts discretion.
Table Talk 23
Looking to break into the industry and have -all-the-questions-? Join me for a small table discussion of writing, gaming, TTRPG, developmental editing, and more.
Panel: Creating a Shared Fictional Universe
From Marvel's MCU and the Star Wars universe to Terry Pratchett's Discworld and Joe Abercrombie's First Law world, shared fictional universes have captured audiences for decades. Panelists will lay out the fundamental steps for building a strong foundational world, mapping out story arcs, planning across numerous books and series, thinking about how to interconnect it all and more.
Panel: Getting into Game Writing
What does it take to write for games? How does TTRPG writing differ from Video Game writing, and how do those differ from "traditional writing"? Where do you find game writing jobs?
Panel: Mythology and Authenticity in Fantasy
Mining mythologies of the world is a quick way to create semi-familiar, popular fantasy worlds. But those mythologies had (and have) their own adherents, belief systems, and cultures. What responsibilities do authors have as far as research and representation when drawing on material from other cultures and faiths, especially those that can no longer speak for themselves?
